Bird of paradise

Even the smallest bloom that I get from a plant I grew makes me giddy. I drag B over to the planter almost every day to point out each new bloom, and what might bloom soon, and what looks like it's growing and spreading. I never knew gardening could be so satisfying.

Ooh, pretty!

It sounds like you're developing quite the green thumb.

It's called selective photography...I avoid taking pictures of the rosemary that is growing sideways because we keep stepping on it, or the big brown patches in the grass, or the several planters that are full of half-dead bushes and weeds.

But I'm working on it a section at a time - next time you visit you won't even recognize the place!
