But I've been waiting for a long time to start a kid's library. I've also got the set of Shel Silverstein books that B gave me for my birthday a few years ago, and I'm keeping an eye out at Craigslist for a set of Dr. Seuss. Any more suggestions?

You've got the Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar - nice choice. It was once the # favorite of my grandchild.
My own kids were Richard Scarry fans.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to a trip to Half-Price soon.
Stinkydog - until I read your comment, I had forgotten that I had a copy of the Stinky Cheese Man that was my baby sister's!
Hey there... don't forget about Virginia Lee Burton, author of "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel", "Choo Choo", "The Little House", "Katy the Snowplow", etc.

My kids liked "The Snowy Day" and "In the Night Kitchen" too, but you've got the classic set already.
